Wedding at The Georgia Aquarium

Monday the Pup and I went to the Gerogia Aquarium for the wedding of my friend and co-worker April and Marcel.  We got too see two different exhibits during the reception, the whale shark exhibit and the beluga whales.  Pup hadn't been to the aquarium yet so he was excited to get to see the marine life in action.  I promised him that I would take him back after New Years  to see the whole aquarium :-)  I met April at work(Best Buy) and after she transferrred into the computer department we really clicked!  Several other coworkers came to the wedding so we had our own "Best Buy table"

Christmas Time!

Woke up to a tree filled with Christmas gifts! I got new Armani cologne, Van Heusen v-neck vests, a GUESS shirt from my parents; got a FREAKING awesome laptop desk for my laptop - its a cooling pad/ lap desk and has the most amazing speakers that enhance the speakers on my laptop. I am ready to rock on, all day and night with my new gadget for my laptop. I got a model sail boat I can build!!!! I got a 'Spaced out' Smurf shirt and smurf pajamas! I love the smurfs! Bunch of Wolverine Toys to add to my collection, all that stuff from my Babe, The CUB! Then my roommate got me a Lady Gaga ticket for the concert in April, gift card to Marcaroni Grill, and a bunch of stocking stuffers! Best Christmas ever although I didn't get my puppy, this Christmas ROCKED!.....BTW, I have to write to Santa a complaint letter about forgetting my Samoyed Puppy!

SANTA CAME!!!!!
Also, it feels like the Cub and I have been cooking all day! I made the turkey, tried a new recipe, Apple Cider and Sage Butter Turkey. It came out moist and delicious, but I still like my Citrus Orange and Basil leaf Turkey from last year. The Cub made some awesome cheese mash skin potatoes, his cranberry, sausage, apple stuffing and citrus baked carrots....oh and baked french bread. By the time it was all ready to be served and dig in, I was already stuffed from looking at all the food.

The Lesbians celebrated Christmas with us (oh when I refer to the lesbians, that is Martina and Veronica, Martina is the Cub's bbf and Veronica is Martina's girlfriend) It was a good thing the lesbians were here, cause they cleaned up the dishes and put all the food away in fridge. And to top everything off!!!! we had a White Christmas! It started snowing mid afternoon and made this day much sweeter! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and wish everyone great health, wealth and peace in their lives!

Christmas time in the non-real world!

Hello its the Cub here AKA Shawn, making my first post. Sorry it took so long but the holidays are the busiest time of the year for me being a veteran Best Buy employee. Let me start off by letting you know I am also a veteran Guild Wars player as well, I've been playing for over five years now. Guild Wars is an online computer game where I spend some of my free time, just ask the Pup hehe. I go into this world for an escape from real life and all the stresses it can bring including the holiday stress of retail but there is no true escape lol.  During the holiday season three of the major towns are decorated and they have holiday-themed quests and rewards. The above character is in a major trading town called Kamadan, notice the nice blanket of snow(not normally there considering its a desert region) and the decorated tree with presents! That character waving is called Chubby Cheek Cub (named by the Pup for me) he's the only character that even slightly resembles me hehe.
This pic is from another town called Lions Arch and the character is Ursa Major (get it??) hehe.  He's my main warrior class character as you can see he's made for physical combat!  One of the big differences with holidays in the Guild Wars world is the name of the actual holiday. There is no Christmas per se  it's called Wintersday !  Halloween also gets celebrated as well as Chinese New Year, and the anniversary date of the game is a major holiday too!  I guess thats enough video game talk back to the real world :-)

Lion King Surprise

Yesterday morning I found two packages at my front door, they were both from my parents from FL. One was a big box, I knew they were Christmas presents and the other was a big envelope.....that was the envelope I been waiting for several years.

When I was kid, a little movie came out called, The Lion King, its one of my absolute favorite movies of all time. I still watch as intensely as if it were my first time watching it. Well, in Jersey I would save up my weekly allowance and head over to the neighborhood comic book shop and buy The Lion King Trading cards, I collected all of them. Its been seventeen years since then and my mom just found them in a box I had in their home that I haven't unpacked since I moved from Jersey to Florida. Now, I have them back in my possession and looking through all of them brings back so many memories from my life as a kid in Jersey. I wonder if they are worth anything now, doubt I would sell them, I freaking love The Lion King.

Deck the Halls!!!!

This year we went balls to the wall with Christmas decorations. I bought a huge tree for the living room and a small one for my home office. The Cub and I hung lights on the house....twice! cause we ended up with the wrong end of the lights. We also have a Christmas village and decked out the mantel. I hope stoopid Santa brings me the puppy I been asking for.......for the past three years!!!

First Entry

So living away from the city has bored me a bit, although there is a lot of stuff I can be doing around the house, I decided to have a blog where both Shawn and I (Richy) can blog about how we became some cool geeks. LOL It seems that every month or season, we discover stuff we like and want. For instance this past spring when we moved into the house we realized we had a community of hummingbirds living in our back yard. So we went nuts buying hummingbird feeders and I went nuts buying plants and growing flowers and veggies from seeds. Recently we gotten into buying Marvel Universe Figures, they are heroes and villains from the comic books we read. The Cub (a.k.a Shawn, oh yeah his nickname for me is Pup) recently found out that we can get these Marvel Universe Figures at Kroger for an extremely cheap price, compared to comic book shops and Toy R' Us. So last weekend we went on a scavenger hunt and hit up ever Kroger on the North East side of Atlanta and beyond, looking for the prized Marvel Figure.....Arch Angel!  We didn't find him but found other characters to add to our collection. I would add pictures of that collection later.  Anywho hope whoever reads our blogs enjoys it and feel free to comment. ~Richy
