Starting my garden.

For the past two months, I've been working on a little guilty pleasure few people know. Ever since a kid in Jersey, I had a fascination with growing plants. I remember my dad build a fenced in area for my tomatoes, lettuce and bell peppers. I would spend hours thinking of my crops and if I would be able to sell them to my neighbors but the stupid crows and rabbits would eat my tomatoes and never had the chance to even taste them. Well, I got bitten by the bug again, and started preparing my garden. I have potted strawberries I grew last summer, I have a bunch of new strawberry plants this year and working on some strawberry seeds that should be germinating soon. I started my tomatoes, green peppers, cilantro, cayenne peppers, mini rose, a rose bush I started from bare root. I rescued a few plants from Christmas, a Christmas Cactus, a mini rose and a White Christmas Shooting Star Hydrangea. The White Christmas Shooting Star Hydrangea was given as a gift to the "lesbot" (the lesbian roomie) and she let it die.....well almost die, cause now its growing new foliage and I pruned all the dead leaves and branches. Same as the mini rose, it looked dead and ugly, and with my magic touch, it looks strong and has lots of new foliage. Next weekend I will be building a raised garden bed. I bought the wood at Home Depot, got it from the salvage pile weather proof 2x4's and a bunch of bolts, for less then $10 bucks.
Below are some process pictures of my seeds and my planting process.
Green house and dirt pellets - about $4.00 at Home depot.
Various packets of seeds.
Add 5-1/2 cups of warm water.
The dirt pellets absorb all the water.
Dig a small hole add seeds and cover.
Chose your seeds.
Label what you plant.
Cover and if you have plant light place them under it. Uncover a few times so the seedlings don't cook.
After a week, you'll see some growth. (Hollyhock seedlings)
Strawberry seedlings
Sweet Mint, had to transfer to a bigger pot. Love the smell of this plant.
Bunch of seedlings and starters.
Bottom row: 2 potted strawberries from last year and the saved Christmas cactus. Middle row: a bunch of strawberries I bought at the nursery, one potted Strawberry from last year, the saved White Christmas Shooting Star Hydrangea, and some plant from last year I grew and don't remember what it is. Top row: 3 potted strawberries from last year, 2 snap dragons and a bamboo I am trying to save....guess who it belongs to.....the "Lesbot"
